Women & Inclusion in Supramolecular Chemistry

Dr. Ambreen Rashid
Postdoctoral Researcher - Wrocław University of Science and Technology
Ambreen Rashid is a supramolecular chemist focused on molecular recognition and catalysis, with an emphasis on designing selective systems through non-covalent interactions.
She received her B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from Lady Brabourne College and completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, under the supervision of Prof. Pradyut Ghosh (Ph.D., 2024).
Her doctoral research involved the design of metallo-receptors based on hydrogen bonding, halogen bonding, and anion–π interactions, enabling applications in anion sensing, photocatalysis, and supramolecular assembly.
Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland, where she is developing cinchona-based organocatalysts for asymmetric transformations. She will join the University of Bordeaux, France, as a postdoctoral researcher, where she aims to further expand her research toward functional supramolecular and catalytic systems.
Beyond research, she loves meeting new people, trying new food, working out, and dancing whenever she gets the chance.
